What I'm Doing Now

I'm still the solo caregiver for my Mom. My goal is to help Mom to be as happy and comfortable as possible, for as long as she is alive. I've been able to build a great team of home health aides and medical professionals.
Another big area of focus has been my health. I've gone from having the local pizza place know my order by heart to eating grilled chicken, salads, fruit, and lots of protein shakes. I'm doing strength training 3x a week at my new gym — love the chance to play pickleball! I can jog a mile without stopping to walk. On the scale, I'm currently down 55.7 pounds since March 2024. With my monthly tape measure measurements, I'm down 3.0 total inches from May 1. At my last DEXA scan on May 6, I lost 5.2 lbs. of fat and gained 6.1 lbs. of muscle. My doctor was happy about my recent fasting labs. While my sleep could be better, I'm feeling good about my overall health.
